Mortal Adam, Ink on paper, 100 cm x 110 cm, $6000

This piece is a portrait of each one of us during this mortal probationary period. The hands represent various acts of service we are privileged to provide or receive in our efforts to care for all of God’s children and to prepare them to enter back into His presence. God is no respecter of persons. He loves all his children the same. Our privilege and responsibility are to love and care for all who stand in need. Our hands become His.

The circle and square have long been used as representation of the space where heaven and earth meet, which is the essence of temple worship.  In my own work, the inner circle represents the crown of glory prepared for God’s children. The eight-pointed star, or the so-called Seal of Melchizedek represents the Holy Priesthood through which, the Lord empowers and enables all his children to receive saving ordinances and covenants which prepare them to reenter His presence.
