Fuji Mount, ink on paper, 15cm x 20cm, $1000
The first in a diptych that celebrates the place locals call the Holy Fuji San. The two pieces focus on the beautiful opposition that exists on Mount Fuji. First, that it is the tallest mountain in Japan, so it has strange weather patterns. Secondly, that as high as this mountain is, on the inside there is an even deeper set of caverns and tunnels filled with intense pressure, heat, magma and tremors. The mountain is just as active within as it is without. Truly Mt. Fuji is incredible!
